New Zealand is famous around the world for its sheep and Canterbury is famous around New Zealand for its wool and sheepskin, so what better place to be a handspinner of fine woolcraft and sheepskin products than Christchurch the home of Bev Tilson and Morecraft Gifts.

Established in 1981 Morecraft Gifts first handspun products were baby slippers combining pure virgin New Zealand wool with sheepskin and were an instant success.

From small beginnings Morecraft Gifts extended the range of handspun woolcrafts to a variety of garments complement the baby ware range. Sales have grown from local craft shops to now include satisfied customers from all around the world.

Recent additions to the range are accessories for the handspinner including the very popular lap cloth, a double sided cloth enabling easy spinning for either light or dark fleece and the essential crafters carry bag.

Bev Tilson is also author of Knitting Patterns for the Handspinner “must have” in a handspinners library that has been sold around the world now for many years.

It takes patience, particularly when you are learning and have to get used to tensioning the wheel correctly.
